Pet Bereavement Support

Back to Support

Pets are beloved members of the family. If you have experienced the loss of a pet and need to talk about it there are national charities that can help. There is also practical support for older or terminally ill people who require help to look after their pet.

The Cinnamon Trust is a national charity which seeks to relieve the anxieties, problems, and sometimes injustices, faced by elderly and terminally ill people and their pets.

Their volunteers can provide support with:

  • practical help when any aspect of day-to-day care poses a problem – for example, walking the dog for a housebound owner
  • national fostering service for pets whose owners face a spell in hospital
  • help to find pet-friendly care home – click here
  • long term care for pets whose owners have died or moved to residential accommodation which will not accept pets.

Call The Cinnamon Trust on 01736 757 900.
