Meet the CASUS Team:

This service is accessed via referral from your GP. CASUS is the countywide Young People’s Substance Misuse service. It is a multi-disciplinary team made up of social workers, nurses, counsellors, specialist substance misuse practitioners, youth offending workers and is overseen by a consultant psychiatrist.

CASUS provides support to young people (up to 18 years) who are getting into difficulties with addiction and substance abuse. They are sometimes able to work with 18-21 year olds (depending on complexity and need).

The CASUS team provide both direct specialist support and harm minimisation advice to young people and family members/carers.  They offer individual and group support, using a mix of CBT tools, Motivational Interviewing techniques and other evidence-based models of care.

CASUS also provides information, training and advice to children’s services, including schools, as well as vulnerable group work delivery to young people at risk or deemed vulnerable.
