What to expect

Whilst primarily a chance for Bar Hill residents to gather, meet, chat and support each other over a cuppa, the Bar Hill Hub is open to residents of other villages. Support and services include:

Foodbank

The foodbank is self-referral (you don’t need a voucher), but speak to Kevin or Yvonne if you are facing financial challenges and need essentials to keep you going – you can find out more here.

Citizens Advice

A free session helping you to manage any challenges you are facing to do with finance/debt, benefits, employment, immigration or family breakdown. Sessions need to be booked in advance – speak to Kevin or Yvonne for details.

Parish Council Surgeries

An opportunity to talk to a parish councillor about any local issues you need help with.

Bar Hill Coffee Stop

Free coffee and chat with other residents. Click here for more information.

Carer’s Cafe

Meeting on the second Monday of every month between 10-11.30am, with support from a Social Prescribing Link Worker and the Hub team. For anyone caring for a friend, neighbour, partner or family member, even if you aren’t a patient with Maple Surgery in Bar Hill.

Listening Ear

Qualified Mental Health First Aiders can support you by offering a free and confidential listening ear in a safe and private space. Whatever challenges you are facing, sometimes just talking them over can make a difference.

Health & Wellbeing

On the first and third Monday of each month, you can seek advice and guidance on your health and wellbeing from an experienced coach. There are occasional guest speakers on related topics too.

5AsideCHESS

A great way to connect with others, start a conversation and learn to play chess with people happy to teach you this wonderful game.

Support for Asylum Seekers

Good quality children’s and adult clothing and shoes can be dropped off for distribution, typically on the third Monday of the month (please email ahead to check).
